Hyde Sails are the third largest sail manufacturer in the world and they produce custom sails for distributors in countries across the globe.
When they approached us with their vision for change, Hyde Sails had only three distributors for their products, which were all made at a single manufacturing plant.
These three distributors each had orders on their own separate spread sheets, which they would share with the workshop. However, even once orders were in production, distributors would modify sail dimension values in the spread sheets, resulting in crossed wires, false data and lost revenue on incorrect orders.
Hyde required a centralised system for distributors and manufacturers to access, with specific permissions, validations, and a solid workflow.
We created the Order Management Servizio system, which allowed distributors to log in and place orders for sails whereupon the manufacturers could give an accurate cost estimate. Many of the calculations were automated, so Hyde could generate a larger quantity of quotes using the system.
Having a centralised system that is easy to learn and to navigate has meant that Hyde has now expanded its distributor circle from three to over a hundred – all while keeping the same single manufacturing plant.
The validations and workflow in place drastically minimise the chance for human error, so Hyde’s processes are more slick, more efficient, and they (and their distributors) save much-needed resources.
The CRM capabilities that Servizio offers provide an added bonus for Hyde, as they can now deploy well refined e-marketing campaigns that tie in with the ordering process.
